The Gopher men's basketball team defeated Missouri State Friday morning to advance to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic consolation championship.  The final score was 74-69. Minnesota led by double figures for much of the game until Missouri State made a run in the 2nd half.  Joey King led the Gophers with 18 points and Carlos Morris had 12 points for Minnesota.

The Gophers shot 44 percent while Missouri State shot 35 percent.  Minnesota was out-rebounded 40-34.  The Gophers will play the Texas Tech/Mississippi State winner Sunday at 1:30pm CT.
