DETROIT - The Minnesota Wild Lost their matinee match-up 3-2 in OT to the Detroit Red Wings.

Red Wings Forward Andreas Athanasiou beat a sprawling Devan Dubnyk to lift the Red Wings over the Wild.

The goal came seconds after Minnesota forward Erik Haula's shot was saved by Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard. After the save Gustav Nyquist caught a streaking Athanasiou on the breakaway.

Goalscorers for the Wild were Erik Staal with his 26th goal of the season, and Nate Prosser with his first since 2015.

The loss was the Wild's 11th in 14 games since the beginning of March.

Next up for the Wild is the Washington Capitols on Tuesday. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.
