The St. Cloud never trailed in their 2 game series against Mankato and were able to finish the sweep Thursday night as they defeated the Moon Dogs 6-2 in Mankato.
The Rox had 4 pitchers combine on a 3-hit shutout to lead the Rox past the Mankato Moon Dogs at Joe Faber Field Wednesday night. The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when the Rox scored 2 runs. St. Cloud added 2 runs in the 7th inning and 3 more in the 8th.
The Rochester Honkers are cancelling 7 games due to a new player testing positive at an initial screening. The St. Cloud Rox games scheduled for Rochester Sunday and Monday are among the cancellations. The Rox will play Mankato Monday at 7:05 to replace one of the missed Rochester games.
The Rox lost 5-1 at Waterloo Monday night to drop to 2-2 on the season. St. Cloud scored a first inning run on a RBI single from Jack Kelly but Waterloo scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and 2 more in the 3rd. The Bucks added an insurance run in the 6th inning. Kelly finished with 2 of the 5 St. Cloud hits.
It took 11 innings, but the St. Cloud Rox defeated the Rochester Honkers 7-6 in their home opener Thursday night at Joe Faber Field. Andrew Pintar knocked in the game winning run with a single and notched St. Cloud their first win of the 2020 season.
The Rox will send former Tech Tiger and current SCSU Husky Trevor Koenig to the mound tonight against the Honkers. First pitch is set for 7:05 on AM 1390 Granite City Sports.
