The Minnesota Wild beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3 Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center in the Wild's regular season home finale. The win clinches home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with the win.

Despite the Wild out-shooting the Hurricanes 16-6 in the first period, the two teams went into the first intermission tied 3-3. Zach Parise, Jordan Schroeder and Nino Niederreiter all notched goals for Minnesota in the opening period.

Charlie Coyle gave the Wild a 4-3 lead in the second period, and Niederreiter iced the win with his second goal of the game in the third.

The Wild will play at Colorado Thursday night on AM 1390 KXSS. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m.
