The Kansas City Royals' bats came to life in a 9-3 shellacking of the Twins Friday night at Target Field. The Twins had ten hits in the game but were just 3-10 with runners in scoring position.

Eight of the Royals runs were scored via home runs. Eric Hosmer had a pair of dingers, with Billy Butler and Mike Moustakas also going deep for Kansas City.

PJ Walters struggled for a second straight start, allowing six Royals runs in just three innings of work. Walters failed to get out of the first inning in his previous start.
