The St. John's basketball team beat #10 St. Thomas 77-69 at Sexton Arena Monday night. The SJU win snaps a nine game conference winning streak for the Tommies.

Patrick Butcher paced the upset win for St. John's with 20 points on 8-13 shooting. Seth Marx added 16 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

The Johnnies improve to 7-8 overall with the win and are now 5-5 in the MIAC. St. Thomas falls to 12-3 overall and 9-1 in MIAC play.

SJU is in Winona on Saturday for a game against St. Mary's.
