The Nebraska Cornhuskers beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers 24-17 Saturday night in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Gophers fall to 7-3 with the loss and are now a game behind Wisconsin and Nebraska in the Big Ten's West Division.

Minnesota led early thanks to a three yard touchdown run by Rodney Smith with 7:27 left in the first quarter, and would hold a 7-3 advantage after one quarter.

After the Cornhuskers scored early in the second quarter to take a 10-7 lead, the Gophers rattled off ten straight points on a Mitch Leidner one yard plunge and a 42-yard field goal from Emmit Carpenter to take a 17-10 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Gophers struggled mightily in the second half and failed to score a single point. The Gophers will host Northwestern on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.
