The Missouri Tigers spoiled the Gophers first trip to a January 1st bowl in 52 years with a 33-17 win Thursday at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The Gophers finish the season 8-5.

The Gophers defense got out to a hot start in the first half but allowed 23 points in the second half, including two touchdowns within five minutes of one another in the fourth quarter.

Minnesota was doomed by turnovers, losing three fumbles in the game.

Minnesota running back David Cobb finished with 81 yards rushing and quarterback Mitch Leidner was 21/31 for 258 yards and a touchdown.
