Choad Rage: Who Are These Bands That Are Headlining Arenas?

The image above is of comedian Dave Attell. His comedy album Skanks For the Memories... is one of my all-time favorites. This article is not about Dave Attell. It's inspired by some band named "Cigarettes After Sex", who are headlining the Xcel Energy Center this fall. I've never heard of this band. I don't think Getty Images has, either, because when I searched their name the above picture of Dave Attell at the Adult Video News Awards showed up.

And not one picture of a band called Cigarettes After Sex turned up in the search results.

Choad Rage: Get Off My Arena Lawn Edition

I learned of this band's arena show from a YouTube commercial...one I couldn't skip, so right off the bat I hate this band. Then the commercial popped up again in the same video...and every one of the band's songs in the commercial sounded exactly the same. They're some "dream pop" band from Texas that formed in 2008.

I dream of them disappearing from YouTube commercials forever.

Another one showing up in all of the videos I'm trying to watch instead of working: Russ. I guess he's the Bono of rap? At least his name is actually Russ(ell), but once again Getty Images turned up zero results.

He's also headlining a show at Xcel Energy Center, which is not a small concert venue.

Say it again, Abe...
