The Minnesota Vikings signed safety Harrison Smith to a five-year contract extension early Monday morning.

According to Ian Rappaport, Smith becomes the highest paid safety in the NFL. His five year deal is worth $51.25 million, with an average salary of $10.75 million.

In 2015, Smith tallied 87 tackles, 1.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and two interceptions.
