Viking defensive end Jared Allen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.  Allen in October had 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 24 tackles.  Allen is the first Viking to receive this award since Darren Sharper won it in 2005.  Allen leads the NFL in sacks with 12 1/2 and is on pace to break the single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan.

The Vikings are on bye this week.  Their next game in Monday November 14 at Green Bay at 7:30pm, pregame on WJON at 6:30.
