The University of Minnesota men's basketball team came up short against Utah on Friday night.

Minnesota fell behind early in the first half, and by the break trailed 39-33. Their luck changed in the second half, as Utah committed five turnovers on five straight possessions.

The Gophers outscored the Utes 36-34 in the second half, but it was not enough to reclaim the lead. Minnesota fell 73-69.

Daniel Oturu led the team in scoring with 21 points. Marcus Carr and Gabe Kalscheur also hit double digits, putting up 15 and 13 respectively.

The loss marks the third straight for the Gophers. They fall to 1-3 overall and will return home on Thursday to host Central Michigan. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m.
