Timberwolves Drop Second Straight
The Minnesota Timberwolves lost at home to the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Both teams stayed close in the first half. Minnesota kept up with Houston well in the first, trailing 31-30 after twelve minutes. The Rockets pushed out their lead a little in the second quarter, but the Wolves closed up the gap to 64-62 at the break.
The Timberwolves fell apart in the second half of the game. They shot just 8 for 30 from the field in the third quarter, getting outscored 29-23. The in the fourth they put up 20 points to Houston's 32 and lost 125-105.
James Harden led all scorers, sinking 49 for the Rockets. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Wolves with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Jake Layman tallied 21 points and five rebounds. Robert Covington added 17 points and five rebounds.
The Timberwolves fall to 7-6. They will hit the road on Monday to face the 8-4 Utah Jazz.
