Willmar Stingers

The Rox lost 5-1 in Willmar to the Stingers Thursday night. Willmar scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and added 3 more in the 4th inning. The Rox only run came in the 3rd inning on a solo home run from Otto Kemp. Zach Gagnon allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 innings to take the loss for St. Cloud.

ST. CLOUD - The Rox needed a win in their seasons finale game or a Mankato loss to clinch the Northwoods League's Minnesota-Iowa pod championship on Thursday night. Unfortunately for St. Cloud, neither one of those happened as Mankato took care of business and St. Cloud fell to Willmar 9-3 at Joe Faber Field to end their season.

WILLMAR - The Willmar Stingers were able to load the bases in the 9th inning, but closer Blake Stelzer forced a game ending 4-6-3 double play and the St. Cloud Rox defeated the Stingers 4-3. Starting pitcher Luke Albright was the story of the game for St. Cloud after a terrific performance on the mound. The right hander pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 runs and was one strikeout shy of tying the team record for a single game, finishing with 12 K's.

It was a rough night for the St. Cloud Rox on Thursday night as the Willmar Stingers shut them 6-0 in Willmar. Luke Albright got the start for the Rox, going 4 solid innings while only allowing 2 runs and striking out 7. Justin Kelly was a highlight out of the bullpen for the Rox as he pitched 3 shutout innings and struck out an additional 4 Stingers.

The St. Cloud Rox saw their season end in Game 2 of the Northwoods League first round playoff series with Willmar Tuesday night. The Stingers beat the Rox 3-2.

St. Cloud dropped Game one of their Northwoods League 1st round best of 3 series with Willmar 4-1 Monday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud. The Rox bats' struggled throughout the game scoring only one run and managing just 4 hits.

R.J. Martinez suffered his first loss of the season on Friday night as the St. Cloud Rox lost 8-2 against Willmar in St. Cloud. Martinez gave up 6 runs, 5 of them earned, in 7 innings and notched 5 strikeouts.

The St. Cloud Rox scored 3 times in the 9th in Willmar on Thursday to score a 5-3 victory over the Stingers. Parker Smejkal hit a go ahead home run to open the inning and St. Cloud took advantage of sloppy defense to add 2 more insurance runs. The win improves the Rox to 20-7 in the second half of their season, 40-22 overall.

A big 7th inning for the Willmar Stingers cost the St. Cloud Rox as they lost 7-2 on Saturday night in Willmar. The loss was St. Cloud's first of the second half as they now fall to 3-1, 23-16 overall.

Ben Carew was the hero Friday night for the St. Cloud Rox as his walk off single in the 9th inning took down the Willmer Stingers 2-1 in St. Cloud. The win improves the Rox to 3-0 in the second half of the season, 23-15 overall.
