The St. Cloud Tech High School football team returns a strong core group of players in 2024 and head coach Jon Benson is excited to see what they can do. Benson joined me on WJON to preview the Tigers.
The Tech football team earned their first win of the season Friday night 33-7 over Sartell-St. Stephen. The Tigers improve to 1-6 while Sartell drops to 0-7. Tech will play at New Prague Wednesday at 7 p.m. to close the regular season. Sartell will host Park Center Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Tech Tigers look to restore past glories as they embark on the 2023 season. Tech Head Coach Jon Benson joined me on WJON. He says by the end of the season last year they were "a significantly better team" than they were early in the season.
The 2nd week of the high school football season will take place tonight. Area games include Tech hosting Apollo at the new Tiger Stadium on the new Tech High School campus. Tech is 0-1 after falling 28-21 at Hutchinson last week while Apollo downed St. Francis at home 31-24.
Tech High School has chosen finalists for the vacant head football coaching job. Tech Principal Charlie Eisenreich indicated that they have chosen finalists for the position and will conduct 2nd interviews with those individuals next Thursday and a decision is expected shortly after that.

St. Cloud Tech soon-to-be senior James Kaczor verbally committed yesterday on twitter to play college football starting in the 2018-2019 season at North Dakota State. The 6'1 senior played both slot receiver and safety for Tech last season and is expected to play safety at NDSU.
