Rocori Football

Rocori Football has advanced to the Class 4-A State Tournament Semifinals after posting a 30-7 win over Orono at St. Cloud State's Huskies Stadium tonight.

The Rocori football team defeated Willmar 14-6 tonight in the Section 8-4-A final in Alexandria to advance to the Class 4-A State tournament. The Spartans improve to 8-3 overall.

The Rocori and Sartell-St. Stephen football teams will play in the State Tournament Quarterfinals at St. Cloud State Saturday. The Spartans will play Becker at 3pm Saturday.

Many local schools will play in the high school football state tournament quarterfinals this week. In Class 5-A Sartell-St. Stephen will match up with Simley at 6pm at St. Cloud State Saturday November 8.

The Rocori Spartans and the Detroit Lakers faced off in the Section 8 4A Championship Friday evening.  The defense dominated most of the first half for both teams, but a late first half Touchdown by Ben Nordmark, of the Lakers, gave them the 6-0 lead heading into halftime...

The St. Cloud Tech Tigers defeated the Rocori Spartans 34-20 for some rainy prep football action this Saturday afternoon.

The Rocori football team lost 29-28 at the Fargodome Thursday night. Detroit Lakes went out to a 29-0 lead at halftime before Rocori can storming back in the 2nd half. Rocori got on the board in the 2nd half with a Alex Austad 7-yard touchdown run. The 2-point conversion failed and Rocori trailed 29-6.

The Rocori football team will play Detroit Lakes at the Fargodome in the section 8-4A Finals tonight at 8pm, pregame on WJON at 7:45. Seth Toupal and Tyler Gruber call the action. Rocori is 6-3 after welcoming quarterback Mac Mueller back last week in a 31-13 win over 3rd seeded Fergus Falls

Rocori 26, Tech 13 (Rocori outscored Tech 20-0 in the 2nd half after trailing 13-6 at halftime. Alex Austad ran for 87 yards on 15 carries and 2 touchdowns for Rocori. Brad Fabel threw a 29-yards touchdown pass to Derek Kuechle in the first half. Jacob Peterson was held to 50 yards rushing on 17 carries with a 22-yard touchdown run. Peterson injured his right leg on the last play of the first half and did not return to the game.
