Cathedral Volleyball

The Cathedral volleyball team defeated Sauk Centre 3 games to 1 Thursday night in Sauk Rapids to advance to the Section 6AA Final. Game scores were 25-22, 19-25, 25-22, and 25-19. Sauk Centre is the #1 seed in the Section and is ranked #5 in the State.

The Sartell-St. Stephen volleyball team went 4-0 Saturday at a tournament at Mound-Westonka. The Sabres posted wins over Mound-Westonka 2-1, Robbinsdale Cooper 2-0, Norwood-Young America 2-1 and Buffalo 2-1. Sartell will host Buffalo tonight.

Cathedral volleyball lost 3 games to none to top seeded Sauk Centre Thursday night in the Section 6AA semifinals at Tech High School. Scores were 14-25, 21-25, and 19-25. Kayla Sexton had 11 kills and 11 digs, Kaitlyn Voth had 7 kills and 6 blocks and Eleanor Pelzel added 5 kills, 3 blocks and 12 digs for the Crusaders.

The Cathedral volleyball team will play in the section 6AA semifinals at Tech High School against top seeded Sauk Centre at 5pm Thursday. The Crusaders are 17-11 and last played Sauk Centre August 27 in the Albany Tournament. Cathedral lost that match 2 games to none.

Cathedral downed Albany 3 games to 1 Monday night in the Section 6AA quarterfinals in Albany. Scores were 25-22, 12-25, 25-19, 25-17. Kayla Sexton had 14 kills and Eleanor Pelzel added 12 kills for the Crusaders. Cathedral will play top seeded Sauk Centre at Tech High School Thursday at 5pm in the Section semifinals.

Cathedral Volleyball downed Mora in 3 games Thursday to improve to 2-0 in the Granite Ridge Conference and 3-4 overall. Faith Van Erp had 9 kills and 20 set assists and Kaitlyn Voth had 8 kills for the Crusaders.

Cathedral Volleyball lost in straight sets to top seeded Kasson Mantorville in the Class AA State Tournament Quarterfinals at Excel Energy Center in St. Paul last night. Scores were 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

Rocori downed Cathedral in 3 games last night in the quarterfinals of Section 6-2-A. Scores were 25-21, 25-15, 25-17.

Our first "All-Star Student of the Week" takes us to the volleyball court of Cathedral High School. Rylee Medelberg has been with the team since 9th grade, and has become a leader both on and off the court.
