Cathedral Boys Golf

With the State Tournament on the horizon, Cathedral's golf team is buzzing with excitement after a stellar week. It's all about momentum now.

The Cathedral boys golf team won the Section 6AA meet in Sartell at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club last week. Cathedral boys golf Coach Pete Loehr joined me to talk about their season, the section meet and the state meet. Cathedral's top two golfers are seniors Will Freeman and Nate Martin.

The Cathedral boys golf team is headed back to the Class AA State tournament. The Crusaders finished with the top team score to win the Section 6AA title at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell. Cathedral's score was 588 which was 8 shots better than Crosby-Ironton. Rocori finished in 4th place.

The Cathedral boys golf team is in 5th place after the first day of the Class AA state tournament meet at the Ridges and Sand Creek in Jordan Tuesday. The Crusaders had a total of 320 and trail leader, Detroit Lakes by 15 shots heading into today's final round.

The Cathedral boys golf team could be sitting on their best season. The Crusaders are ranked #15 in the state and have won 5 meets so far and are in 1st place in the Granite Ridge Conference.

Boys Golf: Class AA State Tournament At The Ridges @ Sand Creek in Jordan Detroit Lakes wins the team competition. Pat Larkin of Cathedral finished in 15th place and T.J. Bruce of Cathedral finished tied for 24th.
