St. Cloud Apollo High School opened in the fall of 1970, making the class of '71 the very first to split between two public high schools.

The Tech-Apollo football game to be held at the new Tiger Stadium will be a United Coaches. The game will be the first at the new Tiger Stadium at the brand new Tech High School campus.

The Tech Tiger boys basketball team hosts Apollo for the the last time Thursday at the old Tech building. The meeting will be the 117th of all time between the two schools with Tech holding a 70-46 advantage.

Tech, Apollo and Sauk Rapids-Rice football each lost high school football state quarterfinal games Tuesday night.

The St. Cloud Apollo boys soccer team defeated Mankato West 1-0 Wednesday at St. Cloud State University's Husky Stadium to advance to the Class A State Championship game.

Apollo defeated Sartell-St. Stephen 3-0 at St. Cloud State's Husky Stadium Thursday night in the Section 8-A final . Apollo improves to 18-0-2 and will play in the Class A state tournament next week.

The high school softball schedule including a rivalry game between Tech and Apollo. Tech topped Apollo 14-7. Lindsay Voigt had 4 hits, 2 homeruns and 6 RBIs for Tech.

Local boys hockey teams learned their playoff fates on Wednesday afternoon.
