Apollo boys basketball

The Apollo boys basketball team lost 92-42 at Minnehaha Academy Saturday. Apollo falls to 12-11 overall but their 9-4 Central Lakes Conference record leaves them just 1/2 game back of conference leading Sartell-St. Stephen.

After high school holiday tournaments last week many teams had some time off for the holidays but boys basketball, boys hockey and girls hockey get back at it tonight.

The high school sports schedule tonight is highlighted by Apollo playing at Sartell-St. Stephen in boys basketball. The Eagles are 4-2 and are coming off a 58-51 loss to Orono on Tuesday.

Apollo 81, Sauk Rapids-Rice 45 (Brett Maslonkowski led Apollo with 26 points and Grant Trokey added 15 points for Apollo. Kobe Boraas led Sauk Rapids with 10 points. Apollo is 4-1 overall while Sauk Rapids is 0-4 overall)

Tech 58, Apollo 56 (Kevin Heysse made the tie-breaking layup with :17 left lifting the Tigers to the win. Tech improves to 14-11 while Apollo falls to 9-16. Apollo won the previous meeting over Tech this season)

Cathedral 81, Princeton 34 (Scottie Rucks had 29 points for the Crusaders). Apollo 68, Bemidji 59 (Reid Evans scored 19 points for the Eagles)
