The St. Cloud State University men’s hockey team earned their third straight win Friday night against the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

After a scoreless opening period, the Huskies got on the board early in the second. Jack Ahcan and Micah Miller each scored one to give SCSU a 2-0 advantage.

In the third period, the Huskies continued to be successful at finding the back of the net. Nick Poehling and Easton Brodzinski opened the game up to 4-0. Omaha finally scored their first and only goal in the final minutes of the third period to prevent the shutout. Huskies took it 4-1.

David Hrenak made 25 and allowed just one goal.

The Huskies improve to 5-6-4 and 3-4-0 NCHC. SCSU will play game two against Omaha on Saturday. Pre-game starts at 5:30 p.m. on The River 96.7 FM.
