Pierz Tops Cathedral In Section 6AA Title Game

The Pierz Pioneers are headed to the state tournament after a 6-4 win over the Cathedral Crusaders Thursday night at Dick Putz Field. The Pioneers defeated Cathedral twice in the tournament.

Sophomore Tyler Bautch pitched a complete game for the Crusaders. The game was tied at seven heading into the seventh, when Pierz broke through for a pair of runs.

Cathedral stranded ten baserunners in the game. The Crusaders season ends with a record of 14-10.
