Beloved Kids’ Cafe In Maple Grove Closing After Five Years

A Minnesota-based place for kids to play, and for parents to relax, is closing soon.

MiniSota Play Cafe in Maple Grove opened in 2018 as a place for parents to bring toddlers and smaller kids to play while they enjoyed some community and coffee.

The space offers several themed play areas like "Mini Grove," "Infant Grove Heights" and "Lake Minitonka" for kids to explore and coffee, tea and ice cream treats for parents to enjoy.

RENT ON THE RISE 

However, MiniSota Play Cafe has announced they will close their doors at the end of April due to increasing rent.

"I'm so grateful to have called this amazing space home for the past 5 years. In the middle of the pandemic, when I felt like all hope was lost, I walked into this space, looked at Keith and said, “This is it — this is where MiniSota was meant to be.”

 

To my surprise, we were welcomed into this wonderful shopping center and kept going. My family and team have poured our literal blood, sweat, and tears into the business.

 

We have done everything we could to create a clean, safe, imaginative place for caregivers and little ones to connect, play, and make memories."

In a Facebook post, MiniSota's owner Mandy says they 'simply can't keep up with the current market rates' for their current location. She adds that they are open to the idea of selling the business to a new family who could 'relocate and reopen' MiniSota in the future.

MiniSota will honor all punch cards and gift cards until their closure and monthly memberships will cease to renew moving forward.
