After so many delays last year, and a postponement, we now know when the official day will be that Mystic Lake Amphitheater will open.  It was supposed to open last year.  There were even shows that were booked, but never announced to the public.  Those shows were rebooked at other nearby venues.  So, the shows did go one, just not at the original venue they were booked through.

HERE IS THE OPENING DATE FOR THE BRAND NEW AMPHITHEATER

The official opening day for Mystic Lake Amphitheater is going to be June 20th.  It is a Saturday.  That is nice, considering many people's work schedules.  There will be some entertainment, of course, as well.  And not anything that they have previously announced.

ENTERTAINMENT FOR OPENING NIGHT AT THE AMPHITHEATER

The entertainment for the opening day will be Motion City Soundtrack, Ber, and Rocket Club as well as the students from School of Rock.  That's pretty awesome!  The evening will be hosted by SNL cast member Tommy Brennan, who is originally from St. Paul.  That makes total sense to have him host.  He joined the SNL cast officially this year for season 51.

From Bring Me the News:

The chance to see the new concert hub comes at an introductory rate, with tickets costing just $20. A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Salt Cure Recovery Fund, which seeks to help restaurants that were financially hurt by the Trump administration’s Operation Metro Surge.

REMEMBER WHERE THIS VENUE IS - IT'S NOT THE CASINO

The venue is again NOT part of Mystic Lake Casino, which is about 4 miles away.  It is, however, within a stones throw of Canterbury Park in Shakopee.

The lineup for this summer at this brand new venue continues to grow, and rumor has it that more acts are soon to be announced.  Now, let's just hope for great weather while those shows are happening.
