Youngsters Lead Wolves Over Knicks In OT

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Led by a young trio, the shorthanded Minnesota Timberwolves notched a 95-92 overtime victory on the road Thursday night against the New York Knicks.

In a battle of teams with the worst records in the NBA, Minnesota was led by rookies Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine.

The rookie duo finished with 20 points each, and second-year center Gorgui Dieng notched a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds and also blocked six shots.

Kevin Martin -- who, aside from Chase Budinger, was the only player in the eight-man rotation with more than two years of NBA experience -- scored a game-high 22 points in the victory.

With the win, the Timberwolves improve to 15-53 on the season. Minnesota will play host to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday at Target Center.
