The Timberwolves defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 124-112 Wednesday night to improve to 16-16 on the season. Ricky Rubio led the Wolves with 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

The Wolves led throughout the game and won with little trouble after their 21-point comeback fell short last time out on Monday night against Dallas.

Nikola Pekovic (22), Kevin Love (21) and Kevin Martin (20) each had at least 20 points for the Wolves in the win, while JJ Barea added 17 points off the bench on 7-9 shooting.

Minnesota remains three games behind Dallas for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Timberwolves are back in action on Saturday night to take on the Thunder at Target Center.
