The Minnesota Wild traded for the Arizona Coyotes' backup goalie and learned the fate of defenseman Ryan Suter on Wednesday.

The Wild traded a third round pick in the 2015 NHL draft to the Coyotes in exchange for backup goaltender Devin Dubnyk. Dubnyk, a first-round pick in 2004, is 9-5-2 this season with a .915 save percentage and a goals allowed average of 2.72.

Dubnyk was backing up Mike Smith in Arizona, who will now be backed up by former St. Cloud State standout Mike Lee.

The Wild also received bad news when the league announced Wednesday that defenseman Ryan Suter would be suspended for two games as a result of his elbow to the head of the Penguins' Steve Downie on Tuesday. Suter will miss Thursday's game at Buffalo, as well as the teams' home game Saturday night against Arizona.

Tonight's Wild game at Buffalo can be heard on AM 1240 WJON beginning with the pregame show at 7:30.
