The Minnesota Wild fell to 2-1 this season after a 3-1 loss against Nashville at the Xcel Energy Center Tuesday night.

Dany Heatley was the lone goal scorer for the Wild, with assists credited to Zach Parise and Clayton Stoner.

The game-winning goal was scored by Nashville's Martin Erat at 11:45 on the third period. Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom came well out of his crease to play a loose puck, but had it poked away by Erat.

All Backstrom could do was dive futilely toward Erat, who calmly tapped the puck in to the wide open net.

The Wild will now have a couple of days to rest before taking on the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena Wednesday night.
