The Wild beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in a shootout last night at Xcel Energy Center.

Toronto led 1-0 until late in the third period when Zach Parise came through with the game tying goal at 15:43. Jason Pominville notched the game-winner in the shootout.

Niklas Backstrom left the game in the first period after being blatantly run over by the elbow of Nazem Kadri. Backstrom left the game with an apparent head injury and did not return.

Kadri was ridiculously only given a two minute penalty, then later was kicked out of the game for a head-high hit on Mikael Granlund in the third period.

The Wild host Florida on Friday night at the X.
