The Minnesota Wild rallied to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 Sunday night at Joe Louis Arena. The Wild trailed 2-0 after one period but scored a pair of third period goals to send the game to overtime.

Trailing 2-0 in the second, the Wild got on the board with a Jason Pominville power play goal to cut the Wings lead to one. Pominville’s 27th goal of the season came at 11:57 and was assisted by Ryan Suter and Mikko Koivu.

The Wild tied the game at 4:33 of the third period on a deflection goal by Charlie Coyle, assisted by Matt Moulson and Koivu.  Minnesota took their first lead just under two minutes later on a Zach Parise goal from Mikael Granlund and Jared Spurgeon.

The game went to overtime after Tomas Tatar’s goal at 11:43 tied the teams at three apiece. Moulson won it for Minnesota just 2:15 into overtime on  a deflection past Wings goalie Jimmy Howard.

The Wild host the Canucks Wednesday night at 6:30.
