ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild put together a complete game in their 3-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday night.

It has been an uneven season for the Wild - dealing with injuries, illness, and inconsistency - but they hope that last night's victory may be the start of a turnaround.

The Wild took a 1-0 lead in the second period on Kyle Brodziak's fifth goal of the season.

The Maple Leafs tied it early in the third period, but goals by Jared Spurgeon and Mikko Koivu slammed the door on any possible comeback by Toronto.

The game featured a promising output but the Wild's young goalie Darcy Kuemper, who stopped 34 of Toronto's 35 shots.

With the win, Minnesota improves to 18-14-4 (40 points) - good for 5th in the Central Division.

The Wild will travel to Dallas to take on the Stars tonight at 7:00 p.m.
