The Minnesota Wild lost center Erik Haula to the Las Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Expansion Draft Wednesday. Haula, a restricted free agent, had previously signed a three-year contract with Vegas during the team's exclusive negotiating window.

The Wild also sent top prospect Alex Tuch to the Golden Knights as compensation for the expansion team not selecting Marco Scandella, Matt Dumba or Eric Stall, among others, in the draft.

The Wild will open the season on October 4th at Detroit before their home opener on October 14th at Xcel Energy Center.
