Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke was dealt a seven-game suspension for his knee-on-knee hit against Tyson Barrie on Monday night. The suspension is the longest for a kneeing infraction since 1998.

Cooke will miss at least the four remaining games in the Wild’s series with Colorado, and will miss games next season should the Wild fail to advance in the playoffs this season.

The Wild host the Avalanche in game four of the first round Thursday night at 8:30 (AM 1390).
