CHICAGO - Patrick Kane scored twice as the Chicago Blackhawks picked up a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Wild in the opening game of the Western Conference second round series.

Kane scored twice in the third period to give Chicago a 4-2 lead. Bryan Bickell also scored twice for the Blackhawks, including an empty net goal with under three minutes to play.

The Wild managed to tie the game 2-2 early in the third period. Clayton Stoner made it 2-1 when he sent a shot in front of the net that snuck by Corey Crawford. Kyle Brodziak also scored on a 2-on-1 chance with Erik Haula.

Minnesota out-shot Chicago 32-22 in the contest. Ilya Bryzgalov made 17 saves off of 21 shots in front of the net for the Wild.

Game two of the series is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the United Center in Chicago. You can hear all the action on AM1390 The Fan with pregame at 1:30 p.m.
