The Minnesota Wild rallied in the third period to defeat the New York Islanders 5-4 at Xcel Energy Center Tuesday night. Minnesota improves to 15-10-1 with the win.

The Wild trailed 3-0 after the first period after giving up a goal midway through the first period, then a pair of goals 32 seconds apart with less than three minutes to go in the opening frame.

Jason Pominville's power play goal halfway through the second period cut the Isles' lead to 3-1, but Josh Bailey struck for New York with a goal at 17:17 to make the score 4-1 heading into the third period.

However, the Wild got goals from Mikko Koivu, Erik Haula, Thomas Vanek and Nino Niederreiter in the third period to earn the win.

Minnesota heads west to take on the San Jose Sharks Thursday night.
