The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that they have placed forward Mikko Koivu and goaltender Josh Harding on Injured Reserve.

Koivu injured his ankle on Saturday night against the Washington Capitals. The captain and top-line center stayed in the game after the injury and collected two assists. Koivu is unlikely to be healthy enough to play in time for the Olympics, which begin February 8th.

Harding had been having a remarkable season before being shut down in late December to adjust his medication for Multiple Sclerosis. The Wild are not saying if this illness is related to the MS.
