The Minnesota Wild came to life after a scoreless first period and topped the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0 Sunday night.

Wild defenseman Ryan Suter broke the scoreless tie with a power play goal at 3:13 of the second period on a wrist shot. Suter's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Jason Pominville and Jared Spurgeon.

Charlie Coyle scored his sixth goal of the year on a power play at 15:03 of the second period to give Minnesota a 2-0 lead, with assists credited to Mikael Granlund and Devin Setoguchi.

Jason Pominville scored his first goal as a member of the Wild with just over a minute remaining in the third period for the 3-0 win. Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom made 24 saves in the shutout.

The Wild are now 22-14-2 and in sixth place in the Western Conference. They are two points behind third place Vancouver with ten games left in the season.
