The Vikings are planning a push for a new stadium when a special session is called early next week.  The latest proposal is for a $1.2 Billion stadium with Vikings playing $407 Million, Ramsey County paying $350 Million and the State covering no more that $300 Million.  State lawmakers came out against this proposal 2 months ago and I don't believe they feel better about it now.  Ramsey County residents have also voiced their displeasure about their 1/2 cent sales tax increase to pay for their portion.

I think the Vikings will need to up their contribution and reduce the total overall cost of the stadium project.  It wouldn't be a bad thing if the Vikings had to reduce the cost of the stadium from $1.2 Billion to $800 Million by going from a retractable roof to a roofed stadium.
