The Minnesota Vikings signed one free agent Thursday and had a big name free agent in town for a visit.

The MInnesota Vikings agreed to terms with former Patriots and Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel on Thursday, just hours after the veteran was released from Kansas City.

Cassel, who will be 31 in May, threw for six touchdowns and twelve interceptions in 2012 with the Chiefs. The Vikings are hoping Cassel can return to his 2008-2010 form when he threw for 64 touchdowns and 34 interceptions, as opposed to the last couple of seasons.

Terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.

Former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings was in town for a visit as well, although he had yet to be signed by the Vikings by late afternoon.
