Viking tight end Kyle Rudolph could miss about a month with a fractured foot he sustained Sunday at Dallas against the Cowboys.  Rudolph caught 2 passes including a 35-yard touchdown Sunday before leaving with the injury.  Rudolph has 30 catches for 313 yards and 3 touchdowns this season.  Litchfield native John Carlson will likely fill in for Rudolph.

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier announced today that Christian Ponder will be their starting quarterback Thursday night against the Redskins.  Ponder has thrown for 1,072 yards and 3 touchdowns with 6 interceptions for the Vikings this season.  Josh Freeman and Matt Cassel are the other two options for the Vikings at quarterback.  Cassel was the backup Sunday at Dallas with Freeman inactive.
