The Vikings fell to the San Francisco 49ers 34-14 Sunday night at Candlestick Park. Minnesota is now 0-3 in preseason play with one game remaining on the schedule.

Quarterback Christian Ponder emerged with good numbers on paper, but in reality failed to lead the team on any extended drives. The third-year starter finished 17/23 for 116 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He was sacked once, resulting in a fumble.

Adrian Peterson appeared in the game for a total of two plays and did not touch the ball. Toby Gerhart led the team with seven rushes for 20 yards.

Stephen Burton led the Vikings in receiving yards with five catches for 20 yards, but also had a play where he alligator-armed a ball that led to an interception.

Minnesota is anxiously awaiting the results of an MRI on defensive tackle Kevin Williams' right knee, which was injured on a questionable block away from the play.
