The Vikings cut their roster from 75 to 53 Friday night.  Among the cuts are quarterback Sage Rosenfels, receiver Emanuel Arceneaux, cornerback Chris Carr, offensive lineman Chris DeGeare, and running back Jordan Todman.  The Vikings elected to keep McLeod Bethel-Thompson to be third quarterback and Joe Webb will be the backup to Christian Ponder.

Chris Carr started the first preseason game at cornerback but lost out to younger players.  The rest of the cuts are DT Chase Baker, DE Jeff Charleston, FB Ryan D'Imperio, CB Bobby Felder, DB Eric Frampton, DT Trevor Guyton, RB Lex Hilliard, OL Tyler Holmes, CB Reggie Jones, OL Kevin Murphy, LB Corey Paredes, OL Austin Pasztor, DE Nick Reed, OL Quentin Saulsberry, and TE Mickey Shuler.

Suprises to make the team include quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson and running back Matt Asiata.

The Vikings also reportedly traded for cornerback A.J. Jefferson from Arizona. What the Vikings gave up isn't known yet.
