The Indianapolis Colts embarrassed the Minnesota Vikings 34-6 Sunday afternoon at US Bank Stadium. The loss essentially ends the Vikings season, as they fell to 7-7 and would need an unrealistic number of events to happen to make the postseason.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson made his return to the field after missing 11 games with an injured knee, but was mostly ineffective. Peterson carried the ball six times for 22 yards and had a critical fumble that led to a Colts touchdown. He did not play in the second half.

The Vikings trailed 24-0 at the half, and ran only 13 offensive plays in the first two quarters.

Minnesota will play at Green Bay Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. on AM 1240 WJON.
