Twins Winning Streak Snapped Tuesday
The Twins saw their five game winning streak snapped Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to Oakland at Target Field. Minnesota falls to 14-13 with the loss.
Twins starter Trevor May allowed RBI singles to Billy Butler in the first inning and Brett Lawrie in the sixth. May needed 107 pitches to get through 5.1 innings in which he allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
The Twins had a chance to tie the game with an eighth inning rally. With one out, Jordan Schafer singled to right field and advanced to third when Danny Santana's ground ball was mishandled by first baseman Ike Davis.
Brian Dozier singled to score Schafer, advancing Santana to third base. However, Torii Hunter struck out and Joe Mauer flied out to extinguish the rally.
The Twins and A's meet again on Wednesday night at Target Field. First pitch on WJON is scheduled for 7:10, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30.
