The Twins were shut out in game one and saw a three-run lead evaporate in a game two of a doubleheader against the Washington Nationals Sunday.

The Twins lost game one 7-0 and were outhit in the game 14-3. Scott Diamond gave up six earned runs and failed to make it out of the fifth inning for Minnesota. Jordan Zimmermann pitched seven shutout innings for the win in game one.

Minnesota jumped out to a 4-1 lead in game two thanks to a Chris Hermann two-RBI single and a two-run home run from Pedro Florimon. However, the Twins bullpen could not hang on to the lead as the Nationals scored single runs in each of the third, fifth, sixth and seventh innings to take the lead.

The Twins are 27-33 on the season and have Monday off.
