The Twins beat the Cleveland Indians 3-2 at Target Field Friday night in their first game back in action since the MLB all star break.

Minnesota starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey did not have his best stuff, throwing just 67 of 112 pitches in under six innings of work for strikes. However, he kept the Twins in the game in only allowing two runs.

Trevor Plouffe tied the game at two with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Joe Mauer's single in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the game-winner.
