The Twins signed lefthanded relief pitcher Phil Dumatrait to a contract yesterday.  Dumatrait had a 3.92 ERA in 45 games in 2011.  Dumatrait was 1-3 in 2011.  He is 30 years old.

The Twins finalized a 2-year contract with an option for a 3rd year with shortstop Jamey Carroll yesterday.  Twins General Manager Terry Ryan calls Carroll a gamer and that he looks like a Twins player.  Carroll expects to be the everyday shortstop for the Twins.  He is a career .278 hitter who hit .290 in 2011 in 146 games for the Dodgers.  He had no homeruns and 17 RBIs with 10 steals for the Dodgers.
