The Twins overcame another shaky starting pitching performance and came back to top the Indians 5-3 in Cleveland Sunday afternoon. The Indians took two out of three games in the weekend series at Progressive Field.

Pedro Hernandez was called up from AAA to make an emergency start in place of Mike Pelfrey, who was sent to the disabled list immediately following Saturday's loss. Hernandez walked six Indians batters but hung on to pitch five innings and earn the win.

Josh Willingham gave the Twins a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single into left field that scored Joe Mauer.

With Minnesota trailing 2-1 in the fifth, Oswaldo Arcia singled to score Clete Thomas and tie the game at two. Trevor Plouffe's single in the same inning scored Mauer and gave the Twins a 3-2 lead.  Willingham would add a second RBI base hit in the seventh inning for a 4-2 Twins advantage.

Glen Perkins pitched out of a jam in the ninth to earn his 19th save of the season.

The Twins are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on the Marlins in Miami.
