DETROIT, MI -- It was an ugly game for the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, losing 13-1 blowout to the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers got going early, scoring three runs in the first inning off of Twins starter Mike Pelfrey.

Minnesota was behind 4-0 before scoring their lone run for the game on an RBI single by Eduardo Escobar in the fourth.

Things then began to snowball for the Twins, as the Tigers poured it on by scoring nine runs over the next four innings. Detroit slugger Miguel Cabrera hit two two-run home runs in consecutive innings to add to the beatdown.

The loss leaves Minnesota at 19-15 on the season.

The Twins will begin a home series against the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow with a 7:10 p.m. scheduled start.
