MINNEAPOLIS - The Twins wont give Ron Gardenhire a chance to pick up his 1000th career win after another loss to the Cleveland Indians yesterday 5-1.

Gardenhire sits at 998 wins with one game to go in the season.

Twins starter Cole De Vries retired the first 11 batters he faced before running into trouble in the fourth inning. Jason Kipnis hit an RBI single, and Carlos Santana followed with a two run homer to give Cleveland the lead.

It ended up being yet another disappointing start for Twins pitching, De Vries finished allowing five runs off of six hits in five innings in the loss.

Twins catcher Eric Fryer hit an RBI single in the fourth inning for the Twins lone run.

The Indians moved into the American League wild-card lead with the win yesterday. Cleveland is looking for its first postseason appearance since 2007. If they win today, they will lock down a wild card playoff spot.

The Twins have one more game to go, playing the Indians this afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
